Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started?I started lettering back in 2015 after a series of tragic events such as my husband’s untimely demise, the quick death of my father figure and then my closest niece in a car accident. I wanted to find a way to share the messages I was learning and encourage others that were visually pleasing.
What do you love most about being a lettering artist/calligrapher?
I absolutely LOVE getting to create something new and different. Finding a way to share a message visually that will hopefully encourage and inspire others. I always want my messages to be filled with hope, to leave others feeling better than before they saw it.
What do you like to do in your spare time / Fun facts about yourself!
I’ve trudged through dense, humid jungles in Asia, scaled peaks in Northern Pakistan, interviewed terrorists in the cold cement walls of the former HMS Maze Prison, scuba dived beneath the submarines and fallen off cliffs. I have been struck by lightning two times and now reside in Southern California with my family and a black standard poodle with a mohawk named Chuck. I love coffee, books, live music and travel. One of my favorite quotes is: “Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - A.A. Milne
