2 Ridiculously Easy Ways to Make Your Personalized DIY Chalkboard Mug

But what is the best way to create such a one-of-a-kind mug? With the use of chalkboard contact papers and/or chalkboard spray, you can create a DIY chalkboard mug in minutes! How To Make a DIY Chalkboard Mug

First Option: Using chalkboard spray

First, pick out a mug of your liking; it can be any size, large or small. Spray a thin coat of the chalkboard spray around its sides and on the handle, then wait a few hours for it to dry. If you want a clean, attractive border at the top of the mug, put masking tape around the rim.
After the first coat dries, apply your second coat and let it dry completely.
Drying works faster when you place the mug in the sun.

Second Option: Using chalkboard contact papers

If you don’t like working with sprays, you can use adhesive chalkboard contact papers instead.
Simply peel off the sheet and carefully wrap it around your mug.
You can easily smooth out the surface by putting a little pressure while you rub the sheet on the mug to remove air bubbles.
If you don't get it right the first time, don't worry! You can easily remove the sheet and reposition it. The adhesive remains strong through multiple uses.

After drying your mug (if using chalkboard spray) or trimming away any excess contact paper at the edges of the mug (if using chalkboard contact papers), grab those colorful chalkboard markers and start sketching your personalized design.
