Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started?
Hi friends! My name is Ashley, the calligrapher/artist behind SheShe Design. I'm based in Mesa, Arizona. I've been creating my entire life, from painting, photography & calligraphy. I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education with a minor in Art from Utah State University. I fell in love with chalk art after making chalkboards for my wedding in 2011. In 2014, I took my creative ambitions from a hobby, to being a full-time small business owner. I specialized in custom chalkboards, events signage, murals, weddings & home decor. Over time, other artists began asking for my tips on creating chalk art. With a teaching degree in my back pocket, I transitioned my business to teaching creative workshops to others.

I've designed & created over 50 different chalkboard designs. With my online courses, YouTube channel & social media I teach you step by step how to create beautiful chalkboards.
What do you love most about being a lettering artist/calligrapher?
Besides filling my own creative cup, what I love most about being an artist is sharing my creativity with others. One of my favorite quotes is, "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. -Maya Angelou". It doesn't matter your skill level & perfection is not the goal. Creativity doesn't wait for the perfect moment, it just happens. So grab your tool of choice, paint brush, chalk, markers, and create something today with no expectations.
What do you like to do in your spare time / Fun facts about yourself!
In my spare time, if I'm not doing something creative, you can find me adventuring with my family. I'm married to my best friend from high school with two kiddos & husky.

We love road trips, hiking, swimming & camping. A few fun facts about me, besides art, I love hosting parties & growing my garden.
